My reasons for wanting to try it: Health benefits (no aluminum), Cost savings & lastly being less reliant on Big Business to make everything for me.
Coconut Oil, Cornstarch OR Arrowroot powder & Baking Soda.
Here's the recipe if you want to try it:
Ingredients:
Coconut oil
Coconut oil
baking soda
arrowroot powder or cornstarch
"Combine equal portions of baking soda & arrowroot powder (or Cornstarch). I use about 1/4 cup each. Then slowly add coconut oil and work it in with a spoon until it maintains the substance you desire (I use approx 5-6 Tbls). It should be about the same texture as the store bought kind. You can either scoop this into your old dispensers or place in a small container with lid and apply with fingers with each use. After applying the product, you can just rub the remains into your hands as a lotion!" ~Online Blog

okay, so let us know how sweet you smell at the end of the day - I need to know if it works!
Cool Leia!
Baking soda works wonders in your pits! For years my homemade toothpowder has doubled as my deodorant. Sounds wretched, I know :) I just dip wet fingers into the powder and slather it on. Works great and I love how I only need 1 product for 2 things :) you know me...lazy :)
So I've been meaning to ask you how you like your homemade deodorant? I seriously want to make my own. I've known for a long time about the aluminum in deodorant and I've never liked the idea of having all those chemicals right next to the glands in your armpits. I've tried all natural deodorant when I was pregnant with Matty cause I didn't want that in my system but I broke out in a really bad rash after awhile and I just went back to using the same old stuff. And I wanted to ask you have you ever seen a magazine called Mary Jane's Farm, I think you might like it. If you can't find it up there I'll send you some of mine I think you might really like it! It had this whole thing about bee keeping!!
So? How's it workin'?
