Dusty and I have been on a role with reading through some wonderful books this year. Here are some books that we've already read or that we are still currently reading. I'm no book reviewest and I will not even come close to doing these books any justice. I just wanted to share with you the books on our nightstands and a very brief opinion of what I thought of them.
Both Dusty and I give this book a 2 Thumbs Up! This is one of those books that literally changes your life. I would rate this book in my TOP 5 Favorites.
"Be prepared to have your tender toes stepped on and your cherished assumptions challenged. This is not just another book on the family. Instead, it is a book of profound Biblical truths and straight forward practical counsel. This book will prove to be of immeasurable help to families in these difficult days in which we live. I highly recommend it." ~Dr. George Grant
A blurry picture, but the title reads "What the Bible Says About Child Training~ Parenting With Confidence"
Both Dusty and I are still reading this one, we aren't finished yet, but wow, it's already amazing! We've already implemented some changes in our family based on this book. It's a great Biblical parenting book.
This book is more like a Biblical "how to" manual for homemaking, homeschooling and parenting, it shows practical ways to make the days run smoother and accomplish the most out of each day. I think it would be a wonderful asset to the smaller family as well as the larger family.
~Fit it All in a Day
~Take Control of Clutter
~Conquer the Laundry Monster
~Homeschool a Large Family
~Manage Your Family's Expenses
~Train Old Children to Help Younger Children
~Achieve Good Physical Health
~And Much More!
The book is designed that you can read it straight through or you can just flip to the chapter with the topic you need help in, very handy! :)
Dusty and I both read this book as well. This is a book on the Biblical viewpoint of birth control. It's not the most well written book but the message was great. The authors did a wonderful job debunking many mainstream myths about pregnancy in the "later years", over population etc. The two lines from this book thats really stuck with me is "God can plan your life better than you can!" AND "He is either the Lord of all or not the Lord at all" (Hopefully I got that second one right, I don't have the book sitting here in front of me.) LOL
Family Driven Faith and The Family God's Weapon for Victory run neck in neck for 1st and 2nd place in my TOP 5 Favorite books of all time. At this point in my life both of these books were by far the most life changing and had the biggest impact on my life.
Dusty has also been reading a few other books with the boys at night before bed, some fiction books.
The Chronicles of Narnia
Lord of The Rings
The Hobbit
